| Published four times each year, the Law Review presents lead articles contributed by leading scholars, judges, and lawyers, as well as student notes. Student writers are chosen during the summer after their first year of law school based upon grades and the results of a writing competition. Each staff writer develops a topic for original legal research, and writes over the course of the second year under the supervision of a faculty advisor and student editor. The LSRJ is committed to ensuring access to medically accurate, age-appropriate, culturally competent sex and sexuality education, as well as comprehensive reproductive healthcare, including prenatal care, postnatal care, contraception, abortion services, and alternative reproductive technologies for women and men, free from coercion, discrimination and violence. Southwest Virginia Innocence Project (SVIP) x 4750 |
| The Southwest Virginia Innocence Project provides post-conviction legal assistance to criminal defendants seeking to prove their innocence. Our clients are inmates in prisons throughout southwestern Virginia who have no other sources of legal representation available to them. We provide the legal expertise and investigatory work necessary to file a claim under Virginia's actual innocence statute. This year, we are looking to expand the Innocence Project and take on new cases. Our current cases are going well, and by the end of the year we may be able to file a claim of actual innocence for one of our clients.
